FAQ

  • What training programs do you offer?

We offer a variety of programs to fit every dog’s needs, including:

    Board & Train Programs (4-week On-Leash, 5-week Off-Leash, and Puppy-to-Adult)

Private Lesson Packages (15 lessons for $1,500)

    Puppy 101 (1-week foundational course)

Each program is customized to your dog’s temperament, goals, and lifestyle.

  • How do I know which program is right for my dog?

    We’ll help you decide!

You can fill out a training inquiry form or send us a message describing your dog’s behavior and goals — and we’ll recommend the best fit.

  • What’s included in the Board & Train programs?

All Board & Train programs include daily structured training, socialization, field trips, and all required training tools — such as a slip leash, prong collar, e-collar, and training bed.

  • How do private lessons work?

Private lessons are one-on-one sessions with a Power Hounds trainer where you’ll learn how to train and communicate with your dog directly. You’ll get hands-on guidance and customized homework after each lesson.

  • How do I book a program or lesson?

You can contact us directly through our website (powerhoundsdogtraining.com) or send us a DM on Instagram @powerhoundsdogtraining.

Because we book up quickly, we recommend reaching out early to secure your spot!

  • What is your training philosophy?

We believe in balanced training — using clear communication, consistency, and structure to help dogs thrive. Our goal is a confident, well-mannered dog and a strong human-dog relationship built on trust and respect.

  • What should I bring for my dog’s Board & Train stay?

We provide all training equipment! You’ll just need to bring your dog’s food, any medications, and a signed training agreement. We’ll take care of everything else.

  • Where are you located?

We’re based in Heber CityUtah, and our pack walks and lessons often take place in areas like Murray Park and Orem.

  • Are pack walks open to everyone?

    Yes! 🐕

Pack Walks are open to all dogs (Power Hounds-trained or not) and are free to attend.

Group Classes are for current or past Power Hounds clients and have a $10 drop-in fee.

  • What’s the difference between Pack Walks and Group Classes?

Pack Walks: A structured social walk for dogs and owners to practice calm leash skills in a group setting.

Group Classes: A hands-on training session focusing on obedience, control, and real-world practice with other dogs around.

  • Do you offer training for puppies?

Yes! We have a Puppy 101 Program and a Puppy-to-Adult Program that help set the foundation for obedience, confidence, and manners from the very beginning.

  • What tools do you use in training?

We use tools like the slip leash, long line, prong collar, and e-collar (for off-leash reliability).

Every tool is introduced fairly, with clear communication and guidance for both the dog and owner.

  • Do you offer follow-up support after training?

Absolutely. Our clients are part of the Power Hounds family for life!

You’ll have continued access to pack walks, group classes, and direct trainer support whenever you need help maintaining progress.

  • Do you sell training gear or accessories?

    We proudly offer:

Voilà Treat Pouches in multiple sizes and colors

    E-Collar Technologies collars and accessories

Slip leashes (used in all our programs)

Raised training beds for place work and structure training

You can shop these items directly through us or ask your trainer for recommendations on what’s best for your dog and training goals.

  • Do you offer boarding?

Yes! Power Hounds offers structured boarding exclusively for current and past clients. Your dog will stay in a safe, structured environment with daily routines that include leash walks, obedience refreshers, and downtime.

Our goal is to keep every stay consistent with your dog’s training — so they come home happy, balanced, and still following the rules.
